The School of Intercultural Education will participate for first year in the Innovative Educational Program “I care and I act” that is approved by the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs (F13.1 / 163 822 / D2 / 04.10.2016). Our school celebrated the International Day for Sport for Peace and Development with an event titled: PLAYING WITH THE OTHER. PHYSICAL EDUCATION FOR RESPECT, RESPONSIBILITY AND RECONCILIATION. Our 5th grade students met with Greek native students of the same age of the 16th Elementary school of Nea Ionia. The main aim of the event was to facilitate interethnic contact and social cohesion by engaging students in common physical tasks and cooperative games. On Monday 18th January 2016 the pupils of the 3rd and 4th grade visited the “HELMEPA junior” where they attended the Environmental Awareness Program, which is being implemented by the “HELMEPA Maritime Training Center for Pollution Prevention, Safety at Sea and Environmental Awareness”. The 6th graders from the Elementary School of Korissia, Kea visited our school on Friday, December 11th and spent an hour implementing activities with our own 6th grade students.
